For the 5th spot on our list, we have Monsters University, which has an estimated production cost of $200 million. It was released in the year 2013 and is a direct sequel to the 2001 smash hit film Monsters Inc.

It is the first pixar film to make use of global illumination technology, which brings a more realistic representation of light into 3D scenes.

For the 4th spot on our list, we have Cars 2 which has an estimated production cost of $200 million. It was released in 2011 and is also a direct sequel to the 2006 film Cars. It was the final film produced by Pixar studios that made use of the Marionette animation software.

For the 2nd spot on our list, we have the Lion King, which has an estimated production cost of $260 million. It was released in 2019 and is a realistic remake of the 1994 Disney animated movie of the same name. It was nominated for the 92nd academy awards for its amazing visual effects.

For the 1st spot on our list, we have tangled, which also has an estimated production cost of $260 million. It was released in 2013 and was produced by Disney. The story is based on the fairytale of Rapunzel and her long hair. The animation makes use of 3D CGI, which added additional costs to its production. The animation was originally meant to be called Rapunzel but was later changed to Tangled to make it more appealing to both genders and more age groups.
