For the 10th spot on our list, we have Credit Agricole SA, also known as La vert banque (the green bank) which has a Market Cap of $22.1 Billion Dollars. It is also the largest cooperative financial institution in the world.

The bank was formed in the late 19th in order to provide French farmers with reasonable long-term loans at good rates, as this wasn’t available at the time. It is now one of the richest banks in the world and was the sponsor of the French National team at 2018 World Cup in Russia.

It was founded in early 2006 in Japan and asides from banking, the company also has other divisions which provide services in insurance, mail delivery and transportation. All these contribute to its enormous wealth.

Citi Group is an American bank which was formed in the late 90s as a merger between Travellers Group and Citi Corp. It is one of the Big 4 of American Banks and is often stated as a bank that is just too big to fail. It is also the largest issuer of credit cards worldwide. They provide services in investment banking, retail banking, securities banking, amongst many others.

For the 7th spot on our list, we have the Bank of China which has a market cap of $109 BILLION. It is the second oldest bank in China and was founded in the year 1912 as a replacement to the Qing Dynasty Government Bank. It is the second largest and ninth largest lender of money in China and in the world, respectively. The bank also has the licence to issue banknotes as well, though only in Hong and Macau and not mainland China.

For the 6th spot on our list, we have Wells Fargo which has a market cap of $123 Billion. The company was founded in the year 1852 by Henry Wells and William Fargo in order to provide banking services to the inhabitants of California during the California Gold Rush. Since then, the company has added an array of other financial services to itself, such as consumer banking & lending, securities and even equipment lending. It is also a member of the “Big 4 Banks” in America.

For the 5th spot on our list, we have the Agricultural Bank of China, also known as the AG Bank, which has a market cap of $130 Billion. The bank was founded in the year 1979 and is a member of the ‘Big 4 Banks’ in China. It also China’s third largest lender as it has branches from all over the world from London to New York and even Singapore amongst others. Interestingly enough, it was a victim of the largest bank theft in the history of China, as almost $7.5 Million was embezzled by a pair of its vault managers at a particular branch.

For the 4th spot on our list, we have the Bank of America Corp which has a market cap of about $188 Billion. The Bank of America Corp was founded in 1998 in San Francisco. It is the second largest bank in America and, as such, a member of the “Big 4 Banks” of America. They provide financial services ranging from consumer banking to global wealth and management banking, amongst others.

It is a member of the “Big 4 Banks” of China as it rightly deserves as it has banking operations all over the world in countries like Tokyo, Barcelona, Johannesburg, New York, Hong Kong, etc. The bank is so large that it is also classified as a “systematically important bank” by the Financial Stability Board.

For the 2nd spot on our list, we have the Industrial and Commercial Bank Of China Ltd which has a market cap of $231 Billion. It is a state-owned bank and was founded in the year 1984. It is one of the most profitable companies in the world, as rated by Forbes. They offer financial services such as money management as well as loans to industries in the manufacturing, power and construction industries, amongst others. It is classified as a “systematically important bank” by the Financial Stability Board.

For the 1st place on our list, we have JP Morgan Chase which has a market cap of $280 Billion. It is the largest bank in the America with its headquarters in New York. It is so powerful that it is considered as a member of the “Big 4” Bank in America, one of the two banks in America that is too big to fail and also as a “systematically important bank” by the Financial Stability Board. They provide financial services in investment banking, asset management corporate lending amongst others. It also produced former employees that have gone on to head other financial institutions such as Jacob Frenkel, the Governor of the Bank of Israel, as well as Henry Morgan, the co-founder of Morgan Stanley.
